Yang Ming Marine Transport Corporation and Royal Burger Group are pleased to announce the formation of a Joint Venture agency company in Belgium. The name of the company will be Yang Ming (Belgium) NV.
The Joint Venture, which will start operations on June 1st 2007, will enhance the position of Yang Ming in the Belgium market, and enhance the commitment of Yang Ming to its customers in Belgium.
Royal Burger Group has represented Yang Ming Line in Belgium through its subsidiary Müller Thomsen Antwerp NV, for over 25 years. The Joint Venture is a natural progression of the close relationship that Burger has with Yang Ming.
Mr. Keny Chou, Senior Vice President of Yang Ming Line said, “Following the participation as a shareholder of Antwerp International Terminal, a terminal located in the Deurganckdok, the set up of Yang Ming (Belgium) N.V. reveals our strong commitment to the Port of Antwerp and it is expected that the cargo volume will grow in the coming years.
